Mom's Back to School List: Coffee with Friends

Let's be honest the fall can be just as hectic as the summer. We dream of reconnecting with friends as summer winds down but often we get caught up in the momentum of starting new school routines. Make it a point to text or call a friend and schedule a meet up. Coffee, walk, or any other favorite activity. Our friends are our best resources don't forget to check in with them!

Tips for building community:
1. Get involved. Find something you love and then show up. Volunteer to serve on the PTA, find service opportunities, join a mom’s group or women’s Bible study.
2. Be the first to reach out. And then keep reaching out. It’s scary to put yourself out there, but just asking for someone’s number or saying you’d like to schedule something is the first step!
3. Look around you. You are likely already spending a lot of times in places that have other people like you (Moms!). Parks, school activities, after school sports, dance classes are all great places to start up conversations with other women in the same life phase as you.
4. Call it a play date. Set up something for your kids. This is a great way to foster friendship. You already have one thing in common—your kids like playing together.

What’s one suggestion you’d give a friend who is desiring to make more friends? Leave a tip below!
