Mom's Back to School List: Daily Walks

Scheduling regular rhythms in the new school year is key for us parents! One of the best ways to calm ourselves as we are continuing to navigate the new school year is through movement. Moving our body releases stress, amongst many benefits.

In this season, try to remember to move! Whether it's a walk, run, favorite cardio class or anything in between. Don't forget that your mental and physical health has to be in a good place in order to serve those around you.

Tips to Help You Stay Motivated to Move:
1. Pick something to listen to on your walks (or runs!). Download a favorite podcast or audio book. Or Commit to listening to the Bible as you are out moving. Consider scheduling a call with a friend once a week during the time you walk.
2. Schedule it! It may seem silly but if you are struggling to find time to get out and move, put it on your calendar and honor that time as you would any other appointment.
3. Start slow and build. Don’t put unrealistic expectations on yourself. Start with 10-20 minutes and then, if you desire, slowly add 5 minutes at a time to your walk.
