Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I'm so excited to share with you my latest finds and feels.

Grace in Motherhood

Grace in Motherhood

Last week was a long week. Ben was out of town and though there are many things I enjoy about a little solitude there are just as many things that wear on me as I play the role of single parent. When he travels for work it seems to put a magnifying glass to my role as Mom. The strengths and flaws can’t be hidden by tapping out for a bit or by Dad’s own flaws. It’s just me and my waning patience fighting with my love for children who are wild without warning and manage to get toothpaste on everything in the bathroom but their toothbrushes.

It’s the worry of most every parent—Am I doing this right? Am I messing them up?
Raising humans is hard and I can’t help but feel under-qualified in the process. As much as I want to read all the books and articles in the hopes of doing it better, right, perfectly, I know that isn’t God’s desire for me. He doesn’t want me to be a perfect mom. He wants me to be a mom who admits she needs help, learns from her mistakes and knows her need for grace.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
