Truthfully it doesn't feel like summer to me. Growing up, every summer I would spend some potrion of it at a small community in Michigan. It's beyond a tradition. It's home.
This year will be the first year, to my recollection, that I will not go for any period of time. My pediatrician strongly recommended with my newborn that I not travel for 3-6 months. And even as I agreed to do the responsible thing, my heart broke.
So this is a different summer for me. New experiences, new traditions and added expectation for next year.
What are your summer traditions?
